of Rooks Joyce M. Baldwin MACON Joyce M. Baldwin, 71, of 1212 Gray Highway, died Friday, December 6, 2002, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Baldwin was born in Ringgold, Georgia, and had lived in Macon for the past six years. She was the daughter of the late Jessie James Ward and Letha Buckner Ward. Mrs. Baldwin was retired as a cook and waitress with Huddle House in Atlanta.

She was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Jones County. Mrs. Baldwin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Juanita and Bill Ayers of Jones County; her grandchildren: Eric Ayers of Jones County, Mike Ayers of Nashville, Tennessee, and Faith Meeks of Dublin; eleven great -grandchildren and one great great-great-granddaughter. She was a native of Bainbridge, GA, attended Tift College in Forsyth and Mercer University in Macon.

Mrs. Goolsby was formerly employed by the University of Georgia Library and the University System of Georgia for several years. Her husband, the late Rev. James Hugh Goolsby, served as pastor of Winterville First Baptist for 16 years, Mt. Olive Baptist in Commerce and Midway Baptist near Macon.

Her father, the late Rev. J. S. Hays, Sr. was pastor of Watkinsville First Baptist and numerous other churches throughout Georgia.

Survivors include her children, Carole Goolsby Nunn of Kingsland, James H. Goolsby, Jr. of Augusta and Richard Hays Goolsby of Augusta; a sister, Jewell Hays Correll of Duluth; a brother. Dr. J.

Mr. Obenauf was born in Holton, Michigan but had lived most of his life in Macon. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and was retired from Inland Container after 37 years of service and was also retired from Milspec having worked there for 5 years. Mr. Obenauf was a member of Lizella United Methodist Church and was the first president of Western Little League Association and was a former coach for Western Little League.

Mr. Trice was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church where he was past superintendent of the Church School and past chairman of the Board of Stewards.

Born in Thomaston, Georgia, Mr. Trice attended Robert E. Lee Institute in Thomaston, Mercer University, Harvard Business School, and Southern Methodist institute of Insurance Marketing. He received the Honorary Doctor of Commercial Sciences Degree from Wesleyan College. Mr.

Trice began his career at Trice Oil Company from 1926 to 1954. In 1954, he became district sales manager for Sinclair Oil and Independent Consultant on Marketing and Personnel. In 1947, He served as president of the Georgia Oil Mens Association. Following his career in the oil business, Mr. Trice served as president and Chairman of the executive committee of Southern Life, and later as Chairman of the Board Piedmont Southern Life Insurance Company (1948 -1961).

Mr. Trice served on many boards including SunTrust Bank, Southern Bell Telephone Company, and Georgia Southern and Florida Railway Company. Mr. Trice was a member of the Board of Trustees at Wesleyan College. He served in the Georgia General Assembly (1950- 1951) and served as Chairman of the Georgia State Highway Board (1962-1970).

Mr. Trice was a member of Idle Hour Country Club and the Capital City Club in Atlanta. He was past president of the Macon Kiwanis Club and served as Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis International. He received many honors, including the Kiwanis International "Legions of Honor" award for 65 years membership. June 3rd 1994 was declared "Reginald Trice Day" in Macon and Bibb County.

Members of the Bibb Legislative elegation and the Macon Chamber of Commerce named I-75 from the Monroe County line to the I-16 Interchange in Macon the "Reginald Trice Parkway." In 2000 the Medical Center of Central Georgia named the auditorium of Peyton Anderson Health Education Center the "Reginald Trice Auditorium." Mr. Trice is survived by his wife, Frankie Raines Trice of Macon; two daughters, Fabia T. Rogers of Macon, and Regina T. Hawkins of Thomaston; 6 grandchildren, Reginald Trice Rogers, Fabia Rogers Butler, John F. Rogers III, Frankie Hawkins Hobbs, Jack Milton Hawkins Jr.

and Mark Abbott Hawkins; 11 great grandchildren, John F. Mrs. Tucker was one of the oldest surviving members of St. John's United Methodist Church joining in 1926 where she gave many loving years of service to St. Johns Church and Cemetery. She was retired from the Ocala Winn Dixie stores.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd A. Tucker, two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her daughters. Mittie T. Jones and Carolyn Marie Steele; son-in-law, Raymond Steele; sister, Agnes Ratliff, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, all of Warner Heritage Memorial Funeral Home had charge of local arrangements.
